Description

Key Role:

Manages and coordinates official visits, meetings, tours, and training for leaders and dignitaries from government agencies, critical private industry partners, and academia, in building, sharing information, and maintaining professional relations with JIEDDO's COIC facility. The COIC supports Combatant Commands (COCOMs) and their Joint Task Forces in harnessing, massing, and fusing information, analysis, technology, and interagency collaboration to enable more precise attacks to defeat networks which employ improvised explosive devices (IEDs)

Strategic partner with senior managers in planning for over 500 annual VIP visits, meetings, tours, and training presentations which includes establishing task and purpose, coordinating and formulating agendas, and making critical decisions on matters that impacts day-to-day operations at the COIC

- Outreach efforts; analyzes and determines what officials from DoD organizations (warfighters and civilians), private industry contractors, academia community and the Intelligence Community (IC) to include CIA, DHS, DIA, DNI, FBI, NGA, NRO and NSA have a need-to-know about the COIC's functions/operations prior to approval/disapproval for requested visits, meetings, tours, and training presentations.

- Main focal point in coordinating with government agencies, critical private industry partners, and academia to leverage their input and contributions in support of the warfighter. Work key details in helping to arrange meetings geared at providing sharing of information and reach back capabilities that supports the COIC mission to the Warfighters downrange.

- Executes situational awareness on operations and events via staff meetings, calendar updates, emails, face-to-face communications and telephone calls with internal and external customers.

- Manages/updates the COIC's official calendar with pertinent information related to all upcoming meetings and visits for the Director, Deputy Director, Chief of Staff, and other senior officials' visibility. Input entries to the COIC's VIP Visitors' SharePoint site and disseminates all related spreadsheets.

- Updates/disseminates the COIC's VIP/Future Engagement events list - document provides key leadership personnel from JIEDDO's Headquarters, the COIC, downrange and at COCOMs with insight on what official VIP visits, meetings, training, and tours are scheduled to occur in the near future and long term future.

- Provides keen oversight for official correspondence editing and protocol support too numerous functions for the COIC's staff.
- Responsible for ensuring external customers are provided with the COIC's security clearance procedures in accordance with the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) guidance. Track and verify all incoming customers security clearance certifications are posted in the Defense Security Service's (DSS) Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) prior to them entering the COIC. Ensure that cleared personnel are afforded instruction and understanding of the protection of material falling under the COIC area of responsibility.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

- Previous military experience (retired E7 or Junior Officer) including experience on Staff Level Operations.

- Experience in researching military issues concerning the Global War on Terror

- Must have excellent communication and briefing skills.
- Overtime Requirements: Approximately 40 hours of overtime per month may be required
