Logistics Systems Manager

JOB SUMMARY:  Support and coordinate corrective action required for all systems issues. Conceptualize, design, and manage the implementation of logistics programs for Hub Group / Unyson Logistics customers and system enhancement initiatives.

Systems Support:

  • Gathers data and finds root problems, alternatives, and recommends course of action
  • Demonstrates superior “hands-on” problem solving skills
  • Communicates regularly between business and IT functions, acting as the liaison
  • Possess high level of competency and demonstrable skills in Microsoft Access, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint
  • In depth knowledge of Transportation Management Systems, implementation methodologies, systems integration, communications technologies, and relational database design
  • Responsible for providing process-based solutions to existing business issues
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Project Management:            

  • Provides project requirement analysis and documentation of existing and proposed business process designs for specified business functions
  • Desire to work in a highly visible role that will interact with individuals at all organizational levels, internal and external.  Responsibilities include coordination between Management, technical resources, and operations resources throughout the life-cycle of a project.
  • Deliver presentations and facilitate training that effectively communicates the content and context of logistics solutions to the customers and internal teams
  • Leads business users through the process request to project charter lifecycle
  • Gives recommendations for business process improvements and system improvements
  • Manages all aspects of testing, training, implementation and support of process and system requirements
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills as well as management of multiple projects


  • 5+ years experience in the functional areas of the supply chain (i.e. Transportation, distribution, warehousing)
  • Extensive knowledge of Transportation Management System functions and how they relate to operational procedures
  • Bachelor of Science in logistics, transportation, operations management, operations research, or economics
  • Possess high level of competency in Microsoft Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and follow tasks through to completion
  • Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, organized, and detail oriented
  • Self managed and motivated to work in an independent environment
  • Moderate travel may be required throughout North America
